Director of Logistics

What you'll do

As the Director of Logistics & Fulfillment, you will be responsible for operational execution of our existing freight and warehousing network. You will lead a team of 3 internal associates and be the central owner for managing our key external stakeholders, including our 4PL Managed transportation Service partner and strategic 3PL warehouse providers. You will be responsible for developing and managing a long-term optimal logistics network that will stay ahead of the accelerated growth and innovation of our business. This role will be responsible for deployment and fulfillment of our finished good product from our production locations to ensure the service expectations of our customers are met at the lowest total cost to serve. You will be instrumental in shaping and executing trü frü’s 5-year Logistics strategy. The ideal candidate will be someone that strives in owning their space with the autonomy to build the foundation that will support rapid growth and expansion of our Supply Chain network to exceed the service expectations of the customer (external & internal). An associate in this position will need to able to balance between day-to-day tactical execution and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

And this is how you will do it...

• Develop optimal transportation and warehouse network model to support all trü frü North America.
• Own transportation and warehouse spend by creating annual operating budget, providing monthly P&L summary to Supply Chain Leadership, and approving invoices for payment.
• Build both operational and strategic relationship with carriers and 3PL warehouse providers to ensure day-to-day execution and future capacity between our Suppliers, Distribution centers, and Customers.
• Lead the development of reports and dashboards to monitor and measure key metrics such as on-time delivery, on-time pickup, carrier performance and cost savings initiatives.
• Work closely with distribution centers and customer service to provide proactive communication of service constraints to the customer, while driving solutions to the day-to-day challenges.
• Drive cost-savings through continuous improvement activities in the transportation and warehousing landscape.
• Leverage internal analytics and external market data to assess trends to proactively avoid any interruptions to the flow of storage and shipments to customers.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and modeling of transportation network operations with a focus on customer outcomes and cost optimization.
• Lead RFP and recurring carrier rate negotiations from the operations viewpoint, partnering with Procurement team and our 4PL to deliver savings and innovative concepts.
• Develop and execute transportation strategies that will deliver the right balance of cost and service for our customers.
• Partner with end-to-end Supply Chain teams to support a strategic inventory model to ensure in-full targets for Manufacturing and Customers while delivering lowest total cost to serve.
• Work collaboratively with cross functional Supply Chain teams to deliver promotional and new product launches on-time.
• Lead the full integration of WMS and TMS systems with the latest ERP for trü frü.

You have...

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related area.
• 10 years of transportation experience.
• Prior experience in medium-large, food manufacturing and/or consumer packaged goods organizations with demonstrated success in Supply Chain management.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to solve complex supply chain challenges.
• Excellent computer skills that include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite functions, as well as familiarity with Transportation Management System (TMS), and freight rating applications.
• Thorough understanding of financial reporting and analysis related to logistics spending.
• Experience developing collaborative relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization and with external vendors that drive business results.
• Ability to influence/facilitate change (face-to-face, via telephone or web conference).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Ability to travel 25%.
• Ability to influence, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives and bring teams to consensus/alignment.
• Experience in leading and conducting process design and improvement projects with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills & ability to effectively communicate will all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated knowledge of working with a 4PL (Transplace/Uber freight).
• Experience managing TMS and WMS integration projects.
• Experience developing and managing productivity programs for strategic CI.
• Knowledge and experience leading network optimization studies.
