JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Body Shop Painter Assistant is to oversee and perform services as requested by customers in a superior manner and timely fashion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Painter with the care, storage and usage of all materials used in company painting processes.
- Follows all safety standards set by applicable governmental guidelines, including state fire and health codes, and federal OSHA guidelines.
- Maintains a regular working knowledge and familiarity with all EPA and OSHA documentation as required by applicable government health and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA guidelines.
- Performs work directed by Painter in a timely and thorough manner. Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
- Advises Painter of any recommended changes in services ordered by customer.
- Determines if any further servicing should be recommended to customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Painter.
- Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized materials, equipment, machinery, and painting techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer's equipment. Attends training sessions as required from time to time by Service Manager.
- Performs additional services required when any piece of equipment is returned by customer because of Assistant Painter's faulty workmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
- Working knowledge of all aspects of painting body parts and bodies of vehicles, including hand and power tools
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to interpret vendor catalogs
- Professional personal appearance
- No experience required
