Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation Dispatcher to oversee our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing the efficiency of our transportation systems. This role requires strong leadership and conflict management skills and a deep understanding of logistics and transportation management systems. This position starts as early as 4am.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Omnitracs to plan and execute logistics strategies.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- Ensures the compliance of all federally mandated DOT standards relative to hours of service, safe operation of equipment, and maintenance of regulatory requirements .
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Manage GPS tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routes.
- Provide training and support to transportation staff on best practices and safety protocols.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Collaborate with other departments to align transportation strategies with overall business goals.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent; Degree in Logistics Management or Transportation Management preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience work in Logistics or Transportation dispatching Proven experience leading and supervising 30 employees.
- Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), specifically Omnitracs
- Distribution of products (freight), DSD experience highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Familiarity with GPS technology and its application in transportation operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Experience in managing data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to transportation.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
