True Believers is seeking to grow our staff and add a Behavioral Health Care Psychotherapist to our dynamic team.
True Believers LLC is an DHS certified outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinic. We believe that our consumers have the right to be treated with the utmost dignity and respect in all aspects of their lives. Our belief system is to meet people where they are and help them have optimum living and wellbeing. Our agency strives to meet our consumers hierarchy of needs by addressing their barriers. Our staff consist of licensed substance abuse professionals, licensed professional counselors, and master degree mental health providers with over 20 years of experience. True Believers LLC offers an array of services such as psychotherapy, psychoeducation, coping and/or grounding skills, meditation, medication management and limited case management services to all of our consumers. We also have staff that specifically specialize in gender dysphoria, transgender care, and transitioning. We work with clients to address ongoing concerns that they face using a variety of modalities and evidence-based practices. True Believers LLC is a non-judgmental space where we address issues facing our consumers.
The Behavioral Healthcare Psychotherapist, supervised by the Behavioral Health Supervisor, provides evidence-based treatment for alcohol, drug, and mental health issues to adults, including diagnosing co-occurring disorders. Outpatient responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, case management, and documentation. The therapist works closely with a team of providers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assessment: Evaluate patients for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and other mental health concerns.
- Treatment Planning: Create and implement individualized treatment plans; determine the appropriate level of care for SUD and mental health needs based on diagnostic criteria and patient placement; provide interventions considering patient ability, cultural factors, and diagnosis.
- Therapy (Outpatient): Conduct individual and group counseling for SUD and mental health, using evidence-based practices and clinical models.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in the clinical treatment team, including case staffing, supervision, coverage for absences, sharing expertise, and attending meetings and trainings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate progress notes and other required documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide clinical and diagnostic feedback to management.
- Participate in quality improvement and utilization review activities.
- Assist in training new staff, supervising students, and supporting visiting clinical personnel.
- Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines related to alcohol, drug, and mental health counseling.
- Write DAP progress notes.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and submit all claims within two business days; ensure that client charts meet state and federal guidelines.
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention resources to consumers.
- Attend weekly individual and group supervision.
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health field.
- Minimum of (1) year of combined experience working with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders.
- Unrestricted Mental Health license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in Wisconsin, or license eligible.
- Unrestricted Substance Abuse Counselor certification (SAC, CSAC, or SUD specialty) in Wisconsin, or license eligible (experience may be considered in lieu of certification).
- Behavioral Health Care Psychotherapist
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a driver’s background check for work related travel.
- Ability to pass the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check screening process.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interviewing and assessment skills with demonstrated ability to listen attentively and empathetically to clients.
- Strong ability to translate assessment information into a treatment plan.
- Demonstrated success working with a diverse patient population and community.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stress and crisis situations.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal community resources available to patients.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
