Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the inspection of various roadway and bridge projects within the region's geographic area
- Oversight of contractor's quality control operations
- Quality assurance sampling and testing
- Completion of Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
- Daily communication with clients, contractors, and field project personnel.
- Use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment such as nuclear density gauges, air meters, and slump cones to perform inspections.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other material
- Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes
- Gather and maintain records/documentation as required by the project
- Compile and submit field notes and computations as required by the project
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of highway construction specifications and materials used.

- A High School diploma or GED is required with construction inspection experience, preferably KYTC related (3-5 years' experience preferred).
- WITH certifications including but not limited to:
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade I
- ACl Aggregate Sampling Technician
- Asphalt Field Technician
- Structural Inspection Level I
- Grand and Drain Level I
- KEPSC-RI
- Construction
- While successfully performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to routinely bend, kneel, climb, lift, and carry up to twenty-five (25) lbs.
- The employee must conform to the schedule assigned and required by their assigned project, which may include working in a remote location, during daylight or nighttime hours, and in extreme weather conditions.
