Front Desk Receptionist
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Center Director(s), the receptionist assists in the daily management and supervision of the front desk area.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Answers the telephone in a professional and friendly manner, greeting the caller with the line, “True Lite Learning Center, this is (insert name), how may I help you?”
· Greeting parents and outside visitors, and aiding with any issues or requests that may arise through these interactions, understanding their visit and guiding them to the appropriate location or proper staff member for additional assistance
· Acts to keep the learning center secure, ensuring parents and children, as well as visitors are efficiently signed in and IDs are taken as necessary
· Assists with outside inquiries and/or directs calls to the proper personnel in the front office pertaining to matters concerning the center
· Assists in morning check in routine, such as taking temperatures of visitors and distributing daily care reports to attending children
· Assists with afternoon check out, directing parents to their child’s whereabouts in the center, making sure that the children leave with the approved parent or guardian
· Supports other members of the front office with administrative duties, such as contacting parents, sending notifications via email or through the Procare application, as well as other clerical tasks
· Maintains cleanliness of front area with disinfectant throughout the work day, along with cleaning the front area restrooms and the one near the director(s) office, sweeping, mopping, the front area as well as vacuuming the two front door rugs and ensuring that the work area is staged in an organized manner
· Weekly upkeep of the supply room and craft room
· Following any other job responsibilities requested by the Director(s)
Interactions with parents, staff and supervisors
· The receptionist is the main contact for anyone outside of the learning center, so throughout the day, the receptionist takes phone calls from parents of the center as well as outside calls from those seeking enrollment or who may have questions about availability.
· The front desk receptionist should have good customer service and social skills. As the face of the learning center, it is imperative the receptionist is friendly and professional while interacting with parents in person, and over the telephone. Active listening and clear speaking skills are needed regularly when dealing with both parents and children.
NOTE: All employees are cross trained to support all age groups and positions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 37 per week
