Expected Hours: Approx. 5–10 hours per week
Work Schedule: Most duties are performed Sundays and weekdays during scheduled education programs/events.
About the Role:
We are seeking a mission-driven Protestant Religious Education (RE) Coordinator to support the faith education program. This role is a part-time position under a government subcontract, focused on planning, coordinating, and supporting Protestant religious education activities for children, youth, and adults.
You’ll work closely with Chaplain staff and volunteers to maintain a spiritually enriching environment for the military community.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all Protestant religious education programming (children, youth, adult).
- Develop and maintain RE class schedules, rosters, and volunteer assignments.
- Order and manage religious education materials and supplies.
- Ensure classrooms are clean, prepared, and organized before and after events.
- Maintain compliance with all DoD child safety protocols and background check requirements.
- Attend staff meetings and submit weekly activity reports to the Chaplain Office.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Teaching/ministry role.
- Familiarity with Protestant teachings and church practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating volunteers and facilitating group activities.
- Ability to work independently with professionalism and discretion.
- Must pass a background check and meet DoD child protection requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship required (due to base access). Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
- Position is part of a federal contract support team—not a federal employee position.
Important:
This position is contingent upon contract award and government approval. Final candidates will be required to complete government-mandated background checks, obtain base access, and attend onboarding with chapel leadership.
