Overview
Veritas Management Group is seeking a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to oversee and enhance the Protestant Religious Education (RE) program at Wright-Patterson AFB. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape the spiritual growth of the community by leading engaging programs, training dedicated volunteers, and fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of the Protestant RE program, ensuring an enriching faith-based learning experience.
Work closely with the Protestant Parish Pastor, chaplains, and ministry leaders to develop and achieve program goals.
Oversee and attend weekly Sunday and weekday RE programs to support both educators and participants.
Recruit, train, and mentor a dedicated team of volunteers, maintaining a supportive and motivated environment.
Select and implement engaging RE curriculum that aligns with Protestant teachings while respecting diverse faith backgrounds.
Manage program budgets, purchase necessary resources, and coordinate facility use.
Organize and execute an annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) and other special programs, ensuring proper curriculum selection, volunteer coordination, and compliance with safety guidelines.
Foster positive relationships by resolving conflicts and supporting parents, volunteers, and church leaders.
Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure proper documentation of chapel resources.
Uphold chapel policies and procedures, ensuring the safe and effective operation of all religious education activities.
Develop and submit an annual budget proposal to support the growth and sustainability of the RE program.
Requirements
Experience: At least two years as a Coordinator of Religious Education or equivalent leadership experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, ministry, or a related field (or equivalent experience if no fully qualified candidates apply).
Theological Knowledge: Strong understanding of Protestant Christian theology, doctrine, and teaching methods.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to thrive in a diverse military chapel environment and work collaboratively with chaplains, volunteers, and families.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and basic financial management.
Security Clearance: Must pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and installation record review.
