True Title Company seeks a Title Abstractor to join our Fredericktown and Farmington, Missouri offices. This is a hybrid position where the Title Abstractor will work in both locations, spending most of the time in Fredericktown, MO. Be a part of our team by preparing abstracts of titles by searching the title history of specific parcels of real property for the purpose of title insurance, legal proceedings, and other client-driven informational requests. Help the production department productivity by updating and revising title commitments for quick turnaround to closers and clients alike.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Some or all of the following duties & responsibilities may be assigned to the Title Production Assistant as business needs dictate:
- Perform title searches on residential real property, utilizing title plants, public record indices, judgment indices and other resources;
- Communicate with third-party abstractors to order and receive title searches from outside our internal search coverage area; provide oversight to ensure compliance with the company’s vendor requirements, search guidelines and turn times;
- Meet production team standards for turn times and overall productivity;
- Assist the production department in other areas as needed, including revising and updating title commitments and recording of deeds;
- Update job knowledge by routinely participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhance company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Explore opportunities to add value to company and key accounts.
- Conduct real estate closings with customers, agents, lenders and attorneys. Provide excellent “closing table” experience for all parties with an emphasis on providing an extraordinary experience for agents from key accounts.
- Explain closing documents to agents and customers in a clear and understandable manner. Engage agents and customers in such a way that they rave about our services and refer us to their friends/colleagues.
- Greet clients and answer phones in a professional manner; provide exceptional written and verbal communication to agents and clients. Address client needs in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) title insurance software and/or mortgage loan closing software
- Notary certification required (if not currently a notary, must get certified immediately upon hiring)
- Missouri title agent license (if not currently licensed, must obtain promptly upon hiring)
- High school diploma or GED required (bachelor’s degree or paralegal certified preferred)

- Non-exempt, full time, Monday – Friday; flexible hours available
