About the Opportunity:
Truebooks Partners is hiring on behalf of a distinguished client in the steel manufacturing industry. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established company that has served the U.S. and Mexican steel markets for over 20 years. The company has recently expanded its operations into Brownsville, Texas, opening a new facility that specializes in carbon steel pipe, mechanical tubing, and ERW API 5L certified products.
They are now seeking an experienced Junior Accountant to join their growing team and contribute to the financial accuracy and success of their operations. If you have manufacturing accounting experience, this is a unique opportunity to be part of something impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record financial entries related to assets, liabilities, and capital accounts
- Document and maintain accurate financial transactions
- Handle monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation with clients and vendors
- Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and tax documentation
- Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close processes
- Support audits and internal reviews as required
- Other accounting duties as assigned by management
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, including activity-based costing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to move through different areas of the facility as needed
