Trueline's client, a leading property management firm specializing in student housing, is seeking an Accounting Lead to join their team in West Lafayette, IN. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
What You'll Do as the Accounting Lead:
- Conduct thorough accounting analyses of specific market segments
- Serve as the primary financial liaison between market presidents and property owners
- Prepare and analyze individual property financial statements using AppFolio ERP system
- Manage balance sheet documentation and assist with bank and loan reconciliations
- Create journal entries and calculate vacancy rates for property financials
- Set up new entities and bank accounts in the ERP system during property transitions
- Compile and distribute comprehensive financial statement packages
- Support various accounting department initiatives as needed
You'll Succeed as the Accounting Lead if you Have:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, client-facing demeanor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Property management experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with AppFolio software (highly desirable)
