Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at TrueNorth Treatment Center. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a basic understanding of substance use/mental health services, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow for medical and clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with office protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Run KASPER reports for Nurse Practitioner
- Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical clearance appointments.
- Communicate with pharmacies as requested by medical staff.
- Assist with medical record and lab requests fulfillment.
- Fulfill medication refill request and medical prior authorizations, as needed.
- Assisting with the completion of client graduation letter and certificates
- Submit Genesite testing documentation as requested by medical staff.
- Collaborate with the medical and administrative team to ensure a smooth workflow.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Familiarity with substance use and mental health treatment environment and protocols.
- Basic life support certification (preferred, but not required)
- Medical administrative tasks within a clinical setting.
- Understanding of vital signs assessment techniques.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA/Confidentiality practices.
