Atria, Inc., Connecticut’s premier interior, exterior, holiday and living wall company is accepting applications for the position of a Horticultural Service Technician. The Horticultural Service Technician is responsible for maintaining interior and exterior plants assigned to their care.

On a structured schedule and within an allotted time frame, the technician maintains interior and exterior foliage by using accepted horticultural techniques. This job requires travel using your own vehicle. This position is focused primarily in the Fairfield area, but also requires travel up to New Haven and Shelton areas.

Requirements:

Horticultural Service Technicians must have a reliable vehicle available each workday, as well as a safe driving record. Vehicle liability insurance and a valid drivers’ license are to be in place at all times. Mileage compensation will be provided at a competitive rate. Must have proof of Covid vaccination in accordance with current CDC guidelines.

The right candidate will have a love for plants. Experience in plant care and identification is a definite plus, but we will train the right individual. We are looking for someone to join a team of dedicated Horticultural Technicians that love what they do!

Flexibility a must! Must be available to work weekends during the holiday season!

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Valid driver’s license (driving record check required) and a reliable vehicle, as well as the ability to drive for long periods of time.
• A cell phone with a camera function
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This includes lifting 10 lb. water buckets, pushing 40-50 lb. water machines.
• Ability to work on ladders (6’ – 14’) and have good, dexterous use of both hands.
• This work requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting. Standing for long periods of time - medium to heavy physical requirements.
• Coverage for other areas may be necessary at times, but gas mileage will be reimbursed
• Must be able to use hoses, water tanks, buckets, scissors, pruners, handsaws, and other small tools as needed.
• Schedule flexibility, including some weekends from Nov 15 – Jan 15 each year.
• Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance. Sense of humor and good nature a must!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
