Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of quality inspection processes, familiarity with industry standards, and the ability to utilize various precision measuring instruments.
The Quality Inspector provides dimensional and visual inspection of products and material at various stages of manufacturing. He/She also verifies process specification certs and customer purchase order requirements and creates quality document packages per industry standards.
Duties
- First article inspection and documentation of machined and assembled products.
- Incoming, outgoing, in-process, and final inspection of products.
- Prepare and package products to prevent shipping damage.
- Review work orders for conformance of company and customer requirements.
- Approve inspection plans and marked-up engineering drawings for manufacturing use.
- Assist machinist with identifying dimensional discrepancies or providing feedback on customer cosmetic requirements and acceptable product finishes.
- Identify and record non-conforming product per process.
- Assist with calibration of inspection equipment and expiration control of shelf-life product.
- Monitor and process MRB product, inspect for conformance and disposition accordingly.
- Occasional creation of packing slips, and/or shipping/receiving of material or products.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Comply, encourage, and support all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in quality inspection or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and vision inspection systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to identify discrepancies in product quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise measurements is a plus.
- Experience with ERP/MRP platforms
- Ability to read blueprint drawings desired.
