Assistant Registrar
Job Responsibilities
The Registrar’s Office supports Truman State University’s past, current, and future students by providing dependable, friendly, and efficient service in the areas of registration, records, and evaluation. We protect the integrity of the University through fair and consistent application of the academic rules and regulations established by the faculty, administration, state, and federal government.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the point person for office communications to students and faculty including mandatory notifications.
- Monitoring the office email account as well as performing necessary daily communications resulting from daily tasks.
- Responsible for daily cyclical processes and operations including but not limited to grade changes, AP/CLEP score processing, Incomplete Agreement processing, Lawful Presence, Address Verification, and grade and early progress reporting.
- Responsible for NCAA compliance/eligibility checking.
- Responsible for error checking related to degree/program mismatches, same course but with multiple enrollments, and invalid advisor assignments.
- Assist with VA certifications.
- Assist with graduation application processing and commencements.
- Assist with reviewing and updating Registrar website, forms, and other mediums.
- Complies with and adheres to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act when communicating with the University.
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as backup to the Registration and Records Coordinator.
- Assist fellow Registrar staff as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of higher education work experience.
- General knowledge of higher education.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Evidence of leadership, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- History of dependability, reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience with college and registrar-related processes.
- Experience working with student information systems such as Ellucian Banner.
- Experience working with Ellucian Degree Works.
- Experience with or using veteran benefits.
- Experience with NCAA eligibility requirements.
- Experience with FERPA.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Experience with updating website content.

Salary
The salary for this position ranges from $40,000-42,000 annually commensurate with qualifications and experience.
