Job Responsibilities
The School of Business and Professional Studies is seeking applicants for a faculty position in Business Administration, specializing in Finance.
The successful candidate will provide classroom teaching to undergraduate students in Finance and related courses including Economics; develop curriculum that prepares students for success in the rapidly evolving world of business; engage in campus-and community-wide efforts to drive the economic development in the northeast Missouri; engage in scholarship; mentor students; conduct research; and participate in service to the University.
The successful candidate will provide classroom teaching to undergraduate students in Finance and related courses including Economics; develop curriculum that prepares students for success in the rapidly evolving world of business; engage in campus-and community-wide efforts to drive the economic development in the northeast Missouri; engage in scholarship; mentor students; conduct research; and participate in service to the University.
Department and Program: The newly created Department of Business and Economics at Truman State University offers undergraduate majors in business administration, accounting, and economics and a master’s degree in accounting. Business administration majors choose at least one concentration in finance, marketing, management, or international business. The Department has 19 full-time faculty members with a variety of specialties to support our programs. We also offer minors in business, accounting, economics, and entrepreneurship and a business analytics certificate. The business and accounting programs hold both business and accounting accreditation from Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the premier global accreditation body. The Community: Located in northeast Missouri, Kirksville is a cultural and economic hub in the region. In addition to being the home of Truman, Kirksville is the birthplace of osteopathic medicine and features a medical school, dental school and community college, and the Kirksville School District is consistently recognized for academic excellence. The community takes pride in several annual events including the Red, White and Blue Festival and the FLATS Trail Half-Marathon. The charming downtown area features an arts center, as well as several local shops and restaurants. Required Qualifications
Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D. in Finance, Economics or Business Administration with emphasis in Finance, or a closely related field.
