- Part-Time Teacher of the Deaf
- Must hold a valid certificate/license Education of the Handicapped (K-12) License for the Hearing Handicap.
- Must be highly qualified.
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and communication skills.
- Must be an effective communicator and motivator.
- Must possess strong leadership skills.
- Must be willing and able to carry out the duties of the job description.
- Must have a successful BCI & FBI background check.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention Training.
- Must have negative drug test results.
- Adhere to Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Assigned to work with hearing impaired students 1:1 or in a small group setting to provide instruction.
- Accompany student as their ASL interpreter throughout the school day while the student participates in other school activities and classes.
- Develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards and student needs.
- Write and progress monitor IEP goals and objectives.
- Modify lessons and materials to accommodate the learning styles and needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Provide direct instruction in language development: This includes vocabulary development, phonics, auditory skill development, and communication strategies.
- Monitor student progress: Track student performance and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Use formative and summative assessments: To inform instruction and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with other educators: Work closely with general education teachers, speech therapists, audiologists, and other specialists to provide a comprehensive education.
