What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant/Grant Writer- TAG position at Trumbull County?
Full-Time Employee Administration Department Non-Exempt General Summary:
Under the supervision of the TAG commander, perform grant writing along with a variety of secretarial and administrative support functions.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Identify and research potential funding opportunities.
2. Understand the mission, vision, and programs of the organization to align with potential grants.
3. Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals within specified deadlines.
4. Manage budgets for proposed projects and programs.
5. Follow up on submitted proposals and provide feedback to the TAG unit supervisor.
6. Keep detailed records of all submitted, pending, and awarded grants.
7. Provide reports to supervisor on grant writing activities and successes.
8. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
9. Data entry and ability to interface with web-based application portals.
10. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, documents and reports with accuracy and timeliness.
11. Prepares and maintains routine records and files.
12. Compiles data for administrative purposes as required.
13. Provide administrative support to TAG leader, including email correspondence and generation and distribution of memos, letters, spreadsheets, forms, and faxes
14. Report to TAG leader for regular updates, accomplishments, and any issues requiring attention.
15. Manage daily administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling, and organizing documents.
16. Handle expense reporting, invoice, and basic accounting tasks.
17. Maintain office supplies and manage inventory.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
