What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bell Person- Bell Door position at Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago?
Position Overview:
Assists guests with luggage during arrival and departure; makes necessary deliveries to and pick up from guest rooms, transports guest and hotel packages and parcels.
Qualifications and Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for the entire shift, which will be at least 8 hours for full time associates
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to push/pull bell carts with weights up to 200lbs for substantial distances from the elevator to the end of the hallway for guest rooms.
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays
Specific Position Requirements:
- Bellperson are an essential position to the success of a hotel. The bellperson assists with the arrival and departure of guest, in assisting the guests one is responsible for delivery or picking up personal items in a timely manner and transporting to the front drive or storage area. Strong attention to detail is needed to ensure that all of a guest’s items are handled with proper care and efficiency.
A bellperson must also be able to assist all guests with a high level of professional and genuine hospitality. Some of the ways that a guest may need assistance include directions, hours of operation for hotel outlets, hotel events & locations.
A strong ability to resolve problems or think on your feet is needed when dealing with high expectations and general guest needs.
Able to maintain position for extended amounts of time in order to greet guests, offer assistance, and open doors in the lobby area.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management.
Able to perform requests either internal or for hotel guests that require the associate to leave the hotel property.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness for front of the house areas and maintain order/structure in the luggage storage area.
Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
Position Responsibilities:
- The ability to respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff. Comply with TIHTC work rules and standards per the associate handbook and as directed by management.
- The ability to assist the door attendants and valet staff with duties and responsibilities when needed.
- The ability to assist the concierge desk whether it is to make deliveries, outside runs, or assist guest requests.
