The Landscape Maintenance Foreman responsibilities include oversight and maintenance of the grounds/landscape on client properties, training and monitoring crew members, supervising the use of equipment, ensure crew members observe safety protocols, and completion of various administrative duties (job planners/checklists).
To be a Landscape Maintenance Foreman, you should be able to provide and follow instruction, problem-solve, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Additionally, a Landscape Maintenance Foreman should be continuously expanding his/her knowledge.
Requirements:
· At least 18 years of age;
· Valid Driver’s License with a clear driving record
· Ability to obtain Chauffeur’s License within first 90 days of employment
· At least 1 year of experience as a landscape maintenance foreman or 2 years as a landscape maintenance crew lead/right hand
· Great attitude, character, integrity, and work ethic
· Careful attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong customer orientation and ability to effectively adapt and respond
· Willingness to learn new skills and abilities the “TruNorth” way
· Willingness to teach others how to use grounds maintenance tools and equipment
· Leadership skills required to successfully manage a lead a crew of 2-4 members
· Knowledge of tools and equipment used in grounds and landscape maintenance
· Knowledge and understanding of pesticides and chemicals
· Must possess clear communication and organization skills.
Preferred credentials:
· Industry-related credentials, such as horticulture or lawn care technician
· Pesticide Applicator License
· Commercial Operator License (CDL)
· Certified Green Industry Professional (CGIP) Certification
Landscape Maintenance Foreman Primary Responsibilities:
· Direct, oversee, and participate in grounds maintenance activities performed by the crew
· Delegate and assign tasks related to properties
· Operate standard grounds maintenance equipment, including push mowers, zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, edgers, and blowers
· Lead the training of crew members
· Effectively communicate with and manage crew members
· Lead and motivate team to meet daily production goals
· Assessing progress and making recommendations for improvement
· Ensuring proper adherence to safety and health regulations by all members of the crew at all times
· Completing grounds maintenance and care tasks in accordance with client contracts
· Overseeing maintenance of lawns and gardens, and ensuring the proper use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals
· Completing routine inventory checks and equipment inspections. Foremen are expected to respect company equipment and treat it with care
· Work closely with the Account Manager to ensure smooth operations in the field
· Represent TruNorth Landscaping in a positive and professional manner and operate with the highest level of integrity
Regular, full-time position (full year positions include Snow Removal in winter months)
Typical Schedule: Monday through Friday
Starting base wage/salary: Based on experience, skillset, and credentials/licenses; Pay range $24.00-$27.00 per hour
