Overview
The Deposit Servicing Specialist will be responsible for completing assigned research functions and duties, such as balancing/reconciling G/L and DDA accounts and fulfilling incoming research requests timely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Balance/reconcile G/L and DDA accounts
- Initiate and or follow up for responses to clear exceptions for balancing/reconciling accounts
- Fulfill research requests including, statement reconstructions, deposit reconstructions, single items, IRS reporting corrections, and subpoenas
- Process IRS tax levies and safe deposit box payments and maintenance
- Verify CD/IRA interest checks and provide IRA technical support
- Communicate with other business entities, financial institutions, and areas of the bank to establish relationships for escalating and expediting issues, exceptions, and requests for resolution
- Assist other associates on assigned duties as need
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Solid math skills with some knowledge of balancing/reconciling procedures
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, meet strict deadlines, and adhere to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions
- Basic computer, calculator, and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must pass basic Excel testing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- People-oriented with customer focus
- Previous banking experience with general knowledge of Deposit Operations, bank operations, and industry
- Basic understanding of the check clearing system through the Federal Reserve and other banks
- Knowledge of the deposits system, reporting applications, and the general ledger
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
