What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Conflicts Specialist (Remote) position at TrustPoint International, LLC?
Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a large, reputable, and nationally ranked law firm in its search for a Conflicts Specialist. This is a direct hire, remote, role (ideally, the candidate will live near one of the client's offices (throughout Pennsylvania; Chicago; or Miami, FL - but the firm is successfully set up for and promotes remote work).
Primary duties of the Conflicts Specialist include but are not limited to:
- The Conflicts Analyst is primarily responsible for the identification, analysis, and resolution of all conflicts requests.
- Analyze and process all conflict requests to ensure that all firm engagements and hires are clear from a business and ethical perspective as well as suggested resolution of potential conflicts.
- Prepare database search terms and create conflicts reports for related parties, for all requests including high volume, bulk searches
- Perform corporate research to confirm the identity of related parties and address any potential conflicts or high-profile issues
- Identify existing and potential conflicts for each request by reviewing and analyzing conflicts reports and supporting documents
- Understand and interpret database results and conflicts reports for firm partners, counsel, attorneys and professional staff
- Prepare concise, comprehensive descriptions of prospective conflicts landscape based on the rules of professional conduct for attorneys and other submitters
- Interact regularly with conflicts counsel, conflicts attorneys, General Counsel firm attorneys and the conflicts team to aid in resolution
- Provide regular updates to responsible attorneys and other users in connection with conflicts clearances
- Maintain conflicts resolution notes and responses for each request
- Request waivers for all matters requiring consent and confirm that all conflicts have been resolved
- Draft conflict waivers, engagement letters, and ethical memorandums for review.
- Other duties, as needed.
The successful Conflicts Specialist will have:
- 3-5 years of conflicts experience within a law firm setting;
- Good judgment, strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, challenging environment;
- Able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks;
- Capable of and comfortable with communicating professionally with attorneys, directors, and managers;
- Ability to take on time sensitive matters while recognizing legal ethical rules;
- Working knowledge of professional responsibility and legal ethics rules pertaining to conflicts;
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects while providing an accurate work product in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment;
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to changes in workflow, processes and procedures;
- Proven ability to conduct legal research.
All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time. Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
Salary Range is $60-80k, commensurate with experience; comprehensive benefits package.
