What are the responsibilities and job description for the PIP Paralegal position at Trustpoint.One?
Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a busy and collegial plaintiff's personal injury law firm in its search for a PIP Paralegal to support a Partner specializing in plaintiff's personal injury (med mal, products liability, catastrophic injury cases). This is a direct hire role out of the firm's Philadelphia offices.
Qualifications of the PIP Paralegal include but are not limited to:
- 3-5 years of paralegal experience in plaintiff's personal injury (experience with medical malpractice required and catastrophic injury strongly preferred).
- Experienced in organizing and summarizing medical records.
- extremely organized.
- strong knowledge of formatting and drafting legal documents.
- team player spirit.
- ability to reliably commute and work onsite out of the firm's Philadelphia offices.
All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time. Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
Primary duties of the PIP Paralegal include but are not limited to:
- Speaking with potential clients and obtaining case facts (acting as first line of contact with pre-litigation clients);
- Obtaining medical authorizations from clients;
- Ordering all pertinent medical records;
- Organizing and summarizing medical records;
- Conducting medical research, as needed;
- Working and collaborating with attorney(s) to investigate case and determine whether case will move forward and take all necessary steps to prepare case for filing;
- Other duties as needed.
Salary range: $50-70,000, commensurate with experience; benefits (including employer paid medical), 401(k) with match; bonuses.
This is a new position, open because of busy workload. 40 hour work week, 9-5 (some flexibility with start and end time), no OT.
This is an onsite position, and the attorney would like the PIP Paralegal to be in office 5 days a week. This is a great opportunity to directly support a collegial partner in a friendly and positive work environment. Growth potential!
