Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of telecommunications professionals to provide exceptional telephone services and support.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of telecommunications systems, including telephone lines, call routing, voicemail, and related hardware and software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between telecommunications systems and other hospital systems, such as electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical communication platforms.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices for telecommunications operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze telecommunications performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
- Manage relationships with external managed service providers, ensuring they meet agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs) and deliver high-quality services.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in telecommunications, evaluating their potential impact on the healthcare industry and making recommendations for adoption.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to staff members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Performs Other Duties as Assigned
- Required H.S. Diploma or GED
- Preferred X ITIL 3 - ITIL Version 3 Foundation Exam
- Required 9 years' experience in information systems selection, implementation or support
- Preferred Management experience
- A bachelor's degree will substitute for 4 years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, information technology, or a related field a plus.
- Proven experience in managing telecommunications operations, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including PBX, VoIP, call routing, voicemail, and related hardware and software.
- Experience in managing and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure, including voice gateways, routers, switches, and firewalls.
