Job purpose
The Sales position is responsible for establishing and maintaining good customer relations in addition to developing new business for the company within an assigned area or territory. Employees in this position are expected to instill confidence in the company and the portfolio of products we sell.
Duties and responsibilities
- Initiate, negotiate and close on sales contracts and agreements
- Troubleshoot customer issues and provide prompt resolution
- Communicate with customers regarding pricing, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays
- Follow up with customers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders
- Enter and edit orders within required timeframes
- Available to deliver product to customers
- Educate and train customers on portfolio of products
- Available to work evenings and nights within assigned territory
- Attend all sales meetings
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Must be 18 or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Outstanding Verbal & Written Communication Skills
- Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of safe work practices
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous sales, merchandising, or pull-up experience
- Previous food service or distribution experience
- Intimate knowledge of wine, beer and the Tryon Portfolio
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with a material handling equipment (i.e. hand truck, dolly, pallet jack)
- Previous experience using ERP systems (Encompass highly preferred)
Working conditions
The employee will perform work in these areas:
- In vehicle while in route to customer locations
- Customer locations
The noise level in these areas is normally moderate.
