Warehouse Shift Manager - 2ND SHIFT ( 5 PM until shift end))

Job purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the administration of the warehouse daily outbound shipments to customers and other distribution areas within the organization. Must ensure a safe and secure working environment and operate in a profitable manner.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and selecting prospective warehouse associates
- Prepare and issue annual performance reviews for warehouse associates
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of warehouse associates and supervisors
- Ensure all warehouse associates are appropriately trained in job duties and safety & legal responsibilities
- Responsible for continuous coaching and counseling of employees
- Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with inventory and devises cost-effective and legal solutions; and acts to implement same
- Schedule warehouse associates based on business needs
- Foster an atmosphere of communication and encourage and motivate associates to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Assist in investigation of all accidents; Maintain incident records and take appropriate preventative action
- Responsible for regular safety and operational inspections and proper reporting of safety hazards and concerns
- Accountable for the proper maintenance and physical condition of the warehouse and equipment
- Analyzes expenses and costs of current operations and makes recommendations for improvement
- Prepares various reports and forms such as accident reports, inventory reports, inspection reports, attendance reports, repair orders, safety recommendations, and equipment maintenance or replacement requests
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment
- Familiar with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures
- Must be able to operate, or learn to operate, all equipment and tools used in the warehouse
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Outstanding Verbal & Written Communication Skills
- Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
- Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to work in hot and cold conditions and in all types of weather
- Must be able to lift up to 175 lbs
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous management experience
- Previous food service, beverage, or distribution experience
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The employee will perform work in these areas:
