Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking a Director Operations (Plant Manager) to join their team.The Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations at clients. This role provides leadership and guidance to production, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and other departments, ensuring efficient operations, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of safety and zero-tolerance for injuries, maintain robust food safety and quality systems to exceed customer expectations.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles, optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and drive cost savings through process improvements.
- Set clear goals and objectives for teams, monitor daily operations, and calibrate performance regularly.
- Develop and execute a 3-5 year strategic plan to ensure supply capacity, meet infrastructure needs, and support growth initiatives.
- Participate in new product development, assess production feasibility, and lead implementation at the facility.
- Adhere to annual budget, provide updates, and collaborate with the Vice President on adjustments.
- Provide guidance and coaching to plant leadership teams, oversee performance of all operations associates.
- Engage in cross-functional meetings, analyze sales trends and cost performance for strategic direction.
- Enhance facility stewardship and implement effective asset maintenance plans.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Food Science.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a production facility, with 3 years as a Plant Manager.
- Food industry experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong analytical abilities.
- Proficient in computer software (spreadsheets, databases, word processing).
- Deep technical knowledge of equipment, products, and manufacturing processes.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, safety, GMP, SQF, and AIB regulations. (SAP experience a plus)
- Hands-on work ethic with the ability to travel occasionally.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and physical hazards.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift moderate weight, and perform various physical tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
