The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payment processing for vendors while maintaining financial integrity and compliance. This position is responsible for invoice review and processing, credit card auditing, vendor reconciliation, and maintaining organized financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to vendor and internal manager inquiries regarding invoice processing, sales tax recording, bank reconciliations, and loan documentation.
- Research and provide accurate, timely solutions to internal clients and vendors at multiple locations.
- Verify vendor invoices for accuracy and ensure proper general ledger account coding.
- Generate vendor payments on a routine schedule with proper documentation for financial review.
- Review and process paid and unpaid invoices, resolve payment inquiries, and void checks as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance for automatic payments, including proper coding, authorization, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain an organized filing system for financial records to facilitate easy retrieval of information.
- Monitor account balances, track expenses, and prepare financial analyses for monthly reporting.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

- General knowledge of GAAP reporting requirements (preferred).
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
