The Equipment Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Field Maintenance Department. They ensure that all equipment and machinery are functioning properly, that safety protocols are being followed, and that any necessary repairs or replacements are made in a timely fashion by Field Mechanics.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for supervisor communications and service needs, expectations, problems, and opportunities, supporting all projects and team members as necessary.
- Ensure that out-of-service, contractual obligations and emergency calls are prioritized and responded to on a planned or accelerated work schedule.
- Supervise field service technicians and equipment washers from location to location.
- Efficiently schedule, dispatch, troubleshoot, and prioritize to meet Site Supervisors' needs/expectations.
- Assist technicians and field operations with technical expertise regarding equipment
- Crawl under, climb in, or on vehicles or equipment for maintenance and repair inspections.
- Repair, remove, and replace moving parts and other components of vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Disassemble, repair, remove, and replace parts of engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, and clutches of vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Tune, adjust, and regulate equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors, and other mechanical components with variable settings.
- Lubricate and service vehicles, equipment, or machinery and maintain accurate records of such service.
- Request repair parts and lubrication supplies as needed.
- Help other crafts workers when not engaged in lubrication, service, maintenance, and repair.
- Maintain department budget
- All other duties as assigned
- Valid driver's license
- Clean MVR
- Ability to effectively manage multiple- priorities, problem-solve, and work under pressure of deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with department and coworkers
- Certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 or more years of experience with construction equipment
- 5 or more years of experience with DOT-regulated vehicles
- Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional work near heavy equipment and machinery
- Occasional exposure to typical construction/industrial sites, including dust and loud noise, and all weather conditions
- Most work performed in an office environment; quiet to moderate noise level
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction) *
