Environmental Professional— Tuscaloosa, AL
Description
- Performs routine field environmental sampling of groundwater, storm water, soil, etc.
- Monitors, observes, samples, and records field environmental conditions.
- Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
- Prepares daily reports and data sheets. Operates with close to moderate supervision.
- Assists and conducts environmental surveys, wetland delineations, habitat assessments and biological monitoring.
- Typical activities include, but are not limited to: map reading, maintain chain-of-custody forms, utilize equipment to measure field parameters, environmental site inspections, and field inspections for drilling access and general utility clearance.
- BS in environmental science, biology, geology, engineering or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in related field.
- Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to travel overnight, extended on occasion, sometimes with short notice.
- Good driving record
- Physical Fitness: perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs; possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment; be certified to wear a respirator
- Possess mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
