The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is now welcoming applications for THRIVE Directors and Assistant Directors. The THRIVE program serves students from the Beaverton School District in afterschool programs. These positions receive part-time benefits.

  • Provide opportunities for kids to have fun, learn, and express themselves through various activities while maintaining a safe environment.

About Us : At Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, we believe children benefit from friendly and supportive interactions with peers and instructors. Our afterschool program strives to create a fun and educational environment where children can develop their talents and recognize their importance both individually and within their community.

Locations : THPRD offers the THRIVE After School program at the following facilities :

  • Tualatin Hills Athletic Center
  • Cedar Hills Recreation Center
  • Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center
  • Garden Home Recreation Center (and Chehalem Elementary)
  • Hours are flexible throughout the week.

    Responsibilities of THRIVE Directors and Assistant Directors :

  • Develop and implement assigned learning curriculums, recreation programs, classes, or activities.
  • Work independently within established guidelines to develop, coordinate, supervise, and instruct daily activities in the assigned program area.
  • Provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff.
  • Coordinate, instruct, supervise, and lead learning and enrichment activities.
  • Create an inclusive and satisfying program / class atmosphere for all participants.
  • Ensure the safety of program participants and provide basic first aid if necessary.

    Part-time Benefits Eligible

    THPRD is hiring for multiple positions, hours may vary and are based on program need. Part-time benefits (PTB) eligible employees work an average of 20 hours per week but, less than 30 hours, on a year-round basis and are eligible to enroll in a benefits package. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! (available to PT and PTB only)
  • The ability to earn and utilize up to forty (40) hours of paid sick leave per year
  • Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
  • Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.

    Please provide a detailed description of your experience in a leadership role, including any experience you have in developing curriculum, scheduling staff, and managing budgets.

    All positions are flexibly staffed, Monday - Friday, between 12 : 30pm - 6 : 00pm on school days and 7 : 30am - 6 : 00pm on no school days, starting August 26th 2024 to June 10th 2025. Please tell us about your typical availability within that timeframe.
