What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Tech I & II position at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District?
Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is looking for a Building Tech I and a Building Tech II to provide custodial services and routine maintenance at assigned district facilities. The Building Techs I and II will play a key role in keeping our district facilities safe, clean and running smoothly, creating a welcoming environment for the community.
See the job description for both positions here.The building tech I will be located at the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, an indoor recreation complex that hosts six indoor sport courts and walking/jogging track. The schedule for the Building Tech I position is Tuesday to Saturday, 2pm to 10:45pm. Flexible scheduling may be available. However, one weekend day is required for this position. A successful candidate for this role will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and exceptional time management and prioritization skills. Starting salary: $58,760.00 to $64,679.16
The building tech II will be located at the historic Jenkins Estate which hosts events ranging from corporate retreats to social gatherings. The schedule for the Building Tech II position is Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-9pm. A successful candidate for this role will have the skills needed for a Building Tech I with added experience in budget and inventory management, leadership skills to oversee part-time maintenance employees and computer competence. Starting salary: $65,755.30 to 72,535.58

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent work-life experience.
- Building Tech I: One (1) year of experience in commercial custodial services.
- Building Tech II: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in commercial custodial services.
