Tubman is seeking a full-time Resource Specialist to join our newly created Central Access Team. This position provides clients access to Tubman's programs and services and assists individuals with resource guidance and advocacy services. The Central Access Team is a centralized initial point of contact for people interested in Tubman services.

The schedule for this position is from 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, transitioning to 11 : 30 AM to 8 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, effective June 2, 2025. The work location at the Tubman Chrysalis Center in South Minneapolis is easily accessible via the Metro Transit Route.

Role Responsibilities

  • Gather information from clients to assess eligibility for Tubman services and to make appropriate referrals over the phone and in person.
  • Provide support, advocacy, safety planning, and information about Tubman programs / services, including shelter, housing, mental and chemical health, youth, and legal.
  • Deliver non-judgmental, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and client-centered support.
  • Work alongside and help support volunteer resource advocates.
  • Maintain accurate data entry.
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultation meetings as appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with those experiencing crisis and / or trauma, remaining calm and client-centered throughout in-depth and emotional conversations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including empathetic listening and the ability to respond appropriately and respectfully to clients.
  • Personal and / or professional experience with people from diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
  • Experience in customer service, crisis intervention, and human services-related work preferred.
  • Background knowledge in advocacy, youth programming, housing, legal services, and / or mental health services.
  • Comfortable using a computer, including basic computer programs, researching the internet, utilizing excellent organizational skills, and writing professional emails.
  • Multi-cultural and multilingual applicants will be strongly considered.
  • Comfort and flexibility working in a new and developing program.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently

    This position will be in person at the Tubman Chrysalis Center, and hours will require working until 8 pm Monday-Friday.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The salary for this position is $21.50 per hour.
