Our long-term care skilled nursing facility is seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Clerk. As the Unit Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the nursing staff to ensure efficient resident care. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational skill with attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A passion for providing compassionate care to the elderly population.
Unit Clerk Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the nursing staff.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide information to callers.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient admissions and discharges.
- Maintain and update resident’s records, including medical history and test results.
- Transcribe physician’s orders accurately and timely.
- Perform other job-related duties as they become required.
Unit Clerk Qualifications
- 1-2 years long-term care skilled nursing, hospital, or healthcare experience.
- Medical terminology experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Technologically savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office including Word and excel.
