Payroll Specialist II
4 Month Assignment (Potential to extend)
Location: Remote (Must be in PST)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)
On behalf of our client a Fortune 500 company, we are seeking a Payroll Specialist II to support payroll processing, time collection, employee data maintenance, and auditing. This role reports to the Senior Payroll Manager within the Human Resources Department and involves interaction with employees at all levels across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Manage time collection, validation, and support supervisors with time and attendance inquiries.
· Handle payroll exceptions and special cases, including garnishments and benefits distribution.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding deductions, compensation calculations, and payroll adjustments.
· Maintain and audit payroll records, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
· Generate reports and conduct data analysis for payroll accuracy.
· Investigate, resolve, or escalate payroll-related issues.
· Ensure compliance with internal audit controls and payroll regulations.
· Document system-related issues and new business requirements for system improvements.
Education and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required and 3 years of Experience in payroll processing, including automated payroll systems.
· Strong attention to detail with exceptional mathematical and analytical skills.
· Knowledge of time & attendance systems, payroll deductions, and benefits distribution.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Familiarity with auditing, compliance, and HR/payroll regulations.
