- Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Maintains executive responsibility for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, taxes, budget, cash flows and general accounting.
- Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Directs of Finance group in providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long term planning, introduction of new programs, strategies and regulatory action.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
- Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company, parent organizations and multiple legal entities.
- Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Directs and oversees annual audit process.
Other Requirements:
- Understand and have experience in US and Mexican financial operations (US GAAP and IFRS)
- Understand the US market in which the company operates
- Be able to maintain fluent business conversation and financial matters with JV parents
- Be bicultural: Understand Mexican culture, meaning, cuisine, habits, festivities, etc.
- Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises two managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Education and/or Experience:B.A. / Master's degree (M. B. A.) or an equivalent; and eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Spanish language is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of most commonly used business systems and software applications in addition to Windows Office and how these systems relate to business processes.
