JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Under the direction of the billing manager, the Billing Clerk is responsible for the timely processing or primary and secondary billing; for the month-end report generation and data entry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews insurance pre-authorizations and verifications, tracking payment and payment plans
- Uses appropriate billing codes to submit for payment and works to ensure timely and accurate payment from vendors
- Coordinates and distributes week-end report generation and production
- Assists Billing Supervisor with insurance vendors for Tuerk House in regard to any billing issues, inquiries, and corrections.
- Corrects electronic claim errors within seven (7) days of claims submitted.
- Any other duties assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates degree or vocational school training preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in Billing department or similar office environment.
- Experience in processing insurance claims/bills preferred but not required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Office required
- Strong skills related to accounts receivable and billing
- Ability to receive and maintain confidential client billing information
- Detail orientated, goal focus, and able to meet objectives and deadlines a must
- Excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
- Personal belief in recovery and the recovery process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
- High energy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to engage clients flexibly based on their individual needs.
- Respect for and maintenance of professional boundaries with all individuals.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking English.
Background: This position requires successful background and drug test completion
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending.

The compensation for this position will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus.
