This position is based out of Phoenix, AZ. Travel through the district market area includes the following locations:
Phoenix, Tucson, Chino Valley, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, El Paso

The District Sales Manager Retail (DSM) is responsible for overseeing all retail sales in assigned market, growing top line sales, and providing the leadership and management for their market. Specifically, the DSM leads and manages the following functions within their market: retail sales and customer service.
RETAIL SALES MANAGEMENT:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day performance and outcomes of the SDC's (Sales & Design Consultants) in assigned market including KPI's
Provide on-the-ground support for sales employees to ensure they achieve lead goals; assist with the closing of large/complicated sales including pricing in coordination with the RSD (Regional Sales Director).
Conducts periodic employee performance reviews in coordination with DM/GM (District Manager/General Manager) and RSD.
In conjunction with the DM/GM and RSDs, (Regional Sales Directors) responsible for the full-cycle recruitment of all sales personnel in the District; recruits, hires, trains, and manages all sales team members.
Onboard and provide ongoing training and coaching for all sales employees within the District.
Performs safety training with sales staff and represents the sales team during safety committee meetings; preparing, scheduling, and leading sales safety meetings, as required by OSHA guidelines and Tuff Shed.
Event management; strategize and manage event planning and execution for local markets.
Manage the market dealership program.
Sales cancellations; review all cancellations and take action to prevent the loss of a sale when possible.
Customer Service; work in conjunction with GM/DM and Factory operations so proper measures are taken to ensure consistent quality customer service is taking place.
Social Media Reviews; ensure all sales staff is running the prescribed company program regarding social media review acquisition and follow-up on any irregularities.
Work in conjunction with SDC’s, GM/DM and factory operations to ensure timely build scheduling and ensure timely customer communication on the status of their build.
On a daily/weekly basis the DSM will utilize various business reporting tools such as JD Edwards, Business Objects and Salesforce to review business and sales trends and react when necessary to ensure expected sales and operational performance is being achieved. In doing so, the SM provides daily/weekly reports of sales success and communicate data to the GM/DM, RSD and RVP (Regional Vice President).
Working in conjunction with the GM/DM, reviews and analyzes the Factory’s Profit and Loss statements to include the Factories production costs, cost of sales and product quality and makes appropriate adjustments to improve the profitable operation of the Factory and Selling Centers.
Conduct regular sales meetings with SDCs.
In conjunction with the Operations Manager, resolving work problems among sales teams and store operations and informing the GM/DM of final outcomes.
Performing all other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Tuff Shed management.
In order to perform the above functions, the District Sales Manager must be present in the market, as scheduled, (including weekends) and work all required hours (Saturdays being Mandatory).
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or requisite experience preferred
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Ability to travel the district market area, up to 45% travel with overnights
Proven experience in successful business-to-consumer sales (and sales management) in large ticket products
Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet applications required; experience in utilizing Customer Relations Management (CRM) software – including Oracle, JDE, Onyx, Salesforce.com, Goldmine or similar systems is required.
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public.
Ability to solve complex business problems using sound logic and good judgment.
Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and in diagram form.
Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports which create a professional image for Tuff Shed.
