What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications and Marketing Specialist position at Tulane University Staff?
The Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for all social and online marketing graphics and communications elements for all entities within the Tulane School of Law. This will include all graphic design, content creation, digital brand storytelling, social media execution and support, student engagement, email marketing, and online reputation management for Tulane Law.
The Specialist creates compelling written and editorial content to promote the school on its digital channels, in marketing materials, on digital signage and occasionally in print. This position regularly writes and makes updates to the school's website. This position produces reports and presentations, compiles and creates newsletter content, and assists with graphics as needed.
The Specialist serves as the communications liaison for Tulane Law academic programs, its Centers for Energy and Environmental Law, institutes, and internal and external constituents while contributing to the institution's growth and impact through strategic communication planning, project coordination and stakeholder engagement.

- Bachelor's Degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 2 years of professional experience working with social media channels, preferably within the higher education industry.
- Knowledge of and efficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Professional experience working with social media management and reporting platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Facebook Ad Manager, etc.
- Proficient in Google Ads and SEO (Google Certification a plus).
- Basic understanding of photography and videography with the ability to capture photos and short videos (Experience with iMovie, Final Cut Pro, After Effects a plus).
- Highly organized and able to work under deadline pressure effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
