What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of NCAA Compliance position at Tulane University?
The Assistant Director for NCAA Compliance is a key member of the department, reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance. The position interacts and collaborates with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and other Tulane University constituents to ensure shared responsibility and an effective culture of compliance. The Assistant Director of NCAA Compliance implements and consistently improves upon Tulane’s comprehensive NCAA compliance program to ensure policies, procedures and protocols of the Athletics Compliance Department are effectively ensuring the integrity of Tulane’s Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The Assistant Director also assists the Compliance Office staff with the daily activities of the athletics department to ensure compliance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University bylaws, rules, regulations and policies. The Assistant Director will monitor recruiting programs, approve expense reports, and oversee the National Letter of Intent program. Additionally, this position will provide oversight of practice and competition logs and as well as maintaining student files in the Front Rush roster program. In the capacity, this role functions as integral part of the NCAA Compliance team. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; excellent computer skills; demonstrated knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations; basic knowledge, understanding and adherence of NCAA, conference and University rules and guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and constituencies
- Strong communication, management, and analysis skills to enhance operations productivity and efficiency.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and organize activities. SPECIAL REQUIRED ABILITY FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
- Ability to complete and pass successfully the required occupational health screening referenced in the University’s Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis.
OR
- Highschool Diploma and six (6) years of NCAA compliance experience, of which two have been in an higher education institution.
- Experience using NCAA systems, Front Rush, and Teamworks
