Summary
Performs or oversees all work necessary to execute and maintain lighting, sound, and projection designs for all mainstage and special events for the Department of Theater and Dance. This position will also support Department of Music performances as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to do the following: comfortably negotiate stairs, ladders, lifts, and catwalks; work at heights as well as within close spaces; stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

- Knowledge of standard and current practices in lighting, sound, and projection design
- Ability to read and interpret a lighting plot
- Ability to install and operate necessary instruments for lighting, sound, and projections
- Ability to instruct students in proper techniques for installation and strike
- Excellent skills in collaboration and communication
- Facility with standard office productivity software (MS Office, Adobe, etc.); ability to quickly learn new technologies

- Bachelor of the Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts
- High School Diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience
- Graduate Degree
