What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Scientist position at Tulane University?
The research scientist will conduct experiments and assume the technical responsibility for studies on the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and regulation of excitation and inhibition balance in developing cortical neurons. This will involve experimental design, all aspects of data collection, data interpretation and preparing the data for publication in peer reviewed journals.

Required Education and/or Experience
Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology techniquesExperience with brain slice preparation and manipulation
Extensive research experience in cellular neurophysiology
Experience with immunohistochemistry/RT-PCR
Experience with mouse and rat breeding and husbandry
