Job Summary

Serve as a dedicated resource and internal advocate for improving the success of first-generation students, students from low-income families, underserved populations, and students with unique abilities in TCC's Engineering programs. Primary focus will be the four-year ABET accredited programs available at OSU-Tulsa that support careers in aerospace and air mobility; however, this position will provide support for other Engineering programs at TCC and OSU-Tulsa as well. Competitive candidates for this position will be required to have experience working with first eneration, low-income, and underserved populations, strong organizational skills, and ideally knowledge or experience working in educational institutions. The coordinator will oversee the integration of wraparound services, scholarship funds, supplies, tutoring, etc. and ensure student awareness, access, and satisfaction with these resources. The coordinator will also implement the measurement and evaluation plan, coordinate with Coordinators at other institutions and TCF representatives to inform marketing and recruitment and take part in designing and implementing new strategies in coordination with the outside facilitator (see Division of Access & Community Impact Consultant in TCF staffing plan).

This is a grant funded position.

Essential Duties

Establish and manage internships and co-ops with area businesses in collaboration with TCC Career Services.

Administer and analyze assessment data for related programs.

Serve as the primary point of contact and resource for TCC and OSU student cohorts accessing support services.

Develop groups of first-generation, low-income, and underserved student populations to create pipelines from academia to industry.

Develop objectives and performance outcome measures that are assessed quarterly and annually.

Develop, implement, and manage a marketing and recruitment plan that includes outreach to current and prospective students, area high school counselors, regional industries, Workforce Development offices, industry organizations, and workforce employees.

Provide leadership in the development and implementation of best practice-based student orientation and retention strategies that support student enrollment, retention, program completion, success, and program continuous quality improvement.

Develop relationships and work collaboratively with the Dean, TCC and OSU faculty, STEM departments, Workforce Development, TCC and OSU college services, and advisory committees in the development of recruitment, orientation and retention strategies.

Collect and organize occupational data to provide source materials for prospective students, parents, teachers, and counselors.

Prepare, with Faculty Department Chair and Dean input, the Engineering Program budget. Administer the Engineering Program budget.

Develop positive and proactive relationships across the college to build partnerships in support of TCC and departmental goals.

Coordinate and conduct information-sharing sessions at area high schools, career fairs, College events, and industry facilities. Develop ongoing marketing contacts with area industry organizations and student assistance programs.

Assist students with enrollment and provide follow-up to ensure the completion of the registration process.

Develop client contacts and student databases for ongoing follow-up and communication.

Establish and manage transfer and career-related workshops and training sessions to assist students in obtaining successful internships, transfer, and employment. Collaborate with TCC job placement centers by acting as a clearinghouse for prospective employers and a referral service for qualified graduates seeking employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field, including, but not limited to, Computer Information Systems and Data Management.

5 years of experience in enrollment and advising or equivalent experience.

Strong understanding of STEM-related coursework and program mapping.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas in meaningful ways that can be explained to all audiences.

Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.

Ability to perform duties under one's own initiative and with limited supervision.

Market research and understanding of the industry and opportunities for students, including career paths and growth or decline in the Tulsa area, state, and region.

Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in fast-paced environment with shifting demands

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education.

Leadership or managerial experience

Experience with Ellucian Banner.
