Job Summary
Serve as a dedicated resource and internal advocate for improving the success of first-generation students, students from low-income families, underserved populations, and students with unique abilities in TCC's Engineering programs. Primary focus will be the four-year ABET accredited programs available at OSU-Tulsa that support careers in aerospace and air mobility; however, this position will provide support for other Engineering programs at TCC and OSU-Tulsa as well. Competitive candidates for this position will be required to have experience working with first generation, low-income, and underserved populations, strong organizational skills, and ideally knowledge or experience working in educational institutions. The coordinator will oversee the integration of wraparound services, scholarship funds, supplies, tutoring, etc. and ensure student awareness, access, and satisfaction with these resources. The coordinator will also implement the measurement and evaluation plan, coordinate with Coordinators at other institutions and TCF representatives to inform marketing and recruitment and take part in designing and implementing new strategies in coordination with the outside facilitator (see Division of Access & Community Impact Consultant in TCF staffing plan).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field, including, but not limited to, Computer Information Systems and Data Management.
Five years of experience in enrollment and advising, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of STEM-related coursework and program mapping.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas in meaningful ways that can be explained to all audiences.
Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Ability to perform duties under one's own initiative and with limited supervision.
Market research and understanding of the industry and opportunities for students, including career paths and growth or decline in the Tulsa area, state, and region.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in fast-paced environment with shifting demands.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education.
Leadership or managerial experience
Experience with Ellucian Banner.
