Position Title: Guest Services Ambassador (GSA)
Reports To: Admissions and Membership Manager
FLSA Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Safety-Sensitive: This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates, regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee, must receive a negative result on a 10-panel, pre-placement drug screening to include THC, prior to beginning work.
Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. (TZMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of “Connecting, Caring, Advocating for Wildlife, People, and Wild Places.” A dynamic group of passionate individuals brings the zoo to life each day, 365 days per year, caring for animals, greeting guests, educating the public and managing the facilities. Each member of the team is integral to the success of the zoo as a key asset in the City of Tulsa and the Northeast Oklahoma region, delivering recreational opportunities, providing unplugged family time and conserving animal species for future generations.
Position Summary:
GSAs are responsible for delivering the highest level of guest service at all points of contact. Usually the first point of guest contact, they must quickly and efficiently resolve guest issues with minimal supervision, accurately complete transactions in the point of sale system and possess general zoo knowledge to enhance the guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned in keeping with the mission of Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. (TZMI)
- Gives exceptional guest service, helping the zoo meet its mission of “inspiring passion for wildlife in every guest, every day”.
- Collects Mohawk Park entry fees.
- Uses POS system to accurately sell zoo admission, ride and attraction tickets and zoo memberships.
- Handles money effectively and balances a cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Suggestive-sells tickets for rides and attractions.
- Understands and explains the benefits of zoo membership.
- Answers phones and is able to quickly assist callers with questions.
- Responsible for monitoring zoo radio system and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
- Knows zoo policy and procedure.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
No education requirement; one to three months related experience and/or training. Previous experience with cash handling a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of TZMI.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Computer Skills
Centaman or equivalent ticketing system preferred.
