What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant/Secretary position at Tundis & Lester Attorneys at Law?
Small, general civil litigation law firm is looking for a legal assistant who is immediately available for employment. Previous litigation/court procedure experience or knowledge is a must. This is a full-time position (35.5 hours per week). This individual must be motivated, with a desire to learn and grow in the position.
Job Duties, including, but not limited to:
- Maintain and coordinate calendars
- Communicate with clients in person, by phone, and by email or letter,
- Draft letters and correspondence
- Transcribe dictation
- Enter, maintain, and send billing information and time records
- Draft court documents and forms, including pleadings, motions, declarations, notices, requests, and others
- Answer phones
- Send, receive, and sort mail
- Greet clients at reception desk
- Copy and scan documents
- Organize, track, build, and maintain case files, information, database files, and records
- Coordinate filing with process servers and file documents electronically with the courts
- File and serve documents electronically
- Various other administrative tasks.
Applicant must be able to work independently, quickly, and under pressure at times, prioritize, multitask, pay close attention to detail and accuracy, and must have excellent organizational skills. Experience with litigation practice and procedures is preferred.
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30-5:00
- Friday: 8:30 – 3:00
- 1 hour lunch daily.
Must have familiarity with Word and WordPerfect, and Excellent dictation transcribing skills.
Competitive pay commensurate with experience.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Closed on Court Holidays
