What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, HUD-VASH Services, Homeless Veteran Program position at Tunnel To Towers Foundation?
The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.
Duties and responsibilities
- Receive and process electronic referrals submitted by VA HUD-VASH team members.
- Seamlessly navigate software to record, collect, document each referral submitted.
- Professional engagement by email and phone with HUD-VASH team members and landlords.
- Upload all documentation into tracking software and assure that the information is complete and comprehensive to track the process from referral to payment.
- Ensure ongoing professional relationships with HUD-VASH Team Members.
- Provide onboarding to new VA HUD-VASH programs across the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to educate groups virtually, about the mission and goal, which is how to submit a web-based referral or fax a referral.
- Consistently provide excellent customer service over the phone, email and in person.
- Ongoing communication with HUD-VASH and landlords regarding status of referrals, verification of payment amounts, confirmation/promissory letters, status of payment and follow up to assure payment was received.
- Obtain veteran related stories, from HUD-VASH team members for review.
- Forward “Thank-You” messages from Veterans to Marketing & Communications Department.
- Ability to reach out to leadership to discuss barriers (internal & external), frustrated HUD-VASH &/or landlords, complaints, and gaps in service.
- Maintain regular communications with supervisor on caseload, challenges and need for additional support.
- Any other duties as directed by the supervisor or leadership team.
Qualifications
- High school graduate/GED.
- Ability to write emails that are grammatically correct with minimal errors.
- Excellent customer service/public relations skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others and independently.
- Demonstrates understanding and compassion of Veteran Culture and Veteran’s Homelessness.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficient at managing time and resources.
- Must be able to successfully manage & coordinate multiple responsibilities and simultaneous duties.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite (or equivalent).
Working conditions
Special working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
