Position Description
Join the Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District (TCRCD) team if you want to make an exciting difference in Tuolumne County. The RCD focuses on programs that increase the resource security of local, privately owned land. With that focus, the RCD coordinates and manages natural resource projects like stormwater programs at schools, fire fuel management projects and technical assistance programs for local farmers and ranchers. The RCD has a niche for offering administrative assistance to local partners like the Fire Safe Council and The Integrated Regional Water Management Authority. The RCD is looking for additional support achieving all this great work.

The Assistant Program Manager will work under the direction of the TCRCD Program Manager and District Manager.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
· Assisting the TCRCD Program Manager in daily tasks.
· Compiling and submitting reports and invoices on TCRCD projects.
· Coordination with advisors and partners to support project planning, permitting, implementation, monitoring, and documentation.
· Engagement with agency staff, landowners, and contractors, to ensure project specifications are met.
· Coordination and assisting with outreach activities and educational workshops, and occasional after-hour community meetings.
· Contributing to overall TCRCD goals and mission through assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements
· Ability to work collaboratively on a team as well as independently.
· Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be highly organized.
· Must be comfortable with technology, and have the ability to produce neat correspondence, documents and forms.
· Positive attitude, willingness to follow instructions and ability to take correction.
· Self-motivated with situational awareness to take care of anything that needs doing.
· Strong desire to learn new skills.
Desired Qualifications
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate and implement conservation projects; transferable skills are acceptable.
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or a science field such as Biology or Forestry is preferred.
· Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Web Browsers, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and ArcGIS.
· Experience utilizing social media and web platforms for education and outreach.
· Experience working with watershed, restoration, or other conservation groups.
· Experience with community engagement.
· Familiarity with local flora, fauna and wildlife.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office setting and occasionally in remote field locations with uneven terrain, limited vehicle access, limited cell phone reception, and sometimes in a solitary capacity. Position may require the use of a personal vehicle. If a personal vehicle is used, you must have proof of insurance. We reimburse for mileage for using a personal vehicle for work.
Compensation
Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience, ranging from $55,000 - $71,000 annually. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick time, retirement with employer match of and a medical and cell phone stipend. The position also includes a flexible work schedule with the ability to work in a fun, fast-paced, positive work environment with excellent coworkers.
