Job Title: Financial Controller / Bookkeeper
Location: Multiple Locations - Twin Cities, MN
Position Summary
Turbo Tim’s is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and elevate our financial operations while playing an integral role on our leadership team. This position is pivotal in driving exponential growth, scale, and productivity across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management, process improvement, and strategic decision-making to help Turbo Tim’s achieve its ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Lead and oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide in-depth financial analyses and insights to guide strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate growth opportunities, investments, and operational improvements.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Drive profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Cash Flow and Capital Management:
- Manage cash flow planning, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic needs.
- Partner with external stakeholders, including banks and auditors, to optimize financing strategies and ensure compliance with agreements.
- Oversee and manage tax compliance, filings, and preparation in partnership with external advisors.
- Systems and Process Optimization:
- Implement and improve financial systems and tools to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to support scalability and productivity.
- Ensure seamless integration of financial processes across multiple locations and teams.
- Bookkeeping and External Accounting Team Management:
- Accountable for coordinating internal and external bookkeeping, accounting and tax resources to deliver needed financial activities
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to overall strategy, vision, and culture.
- Partner with department heads to align financial goals with operational priorities.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a multi-location or service-based organization.
- Knowledge and experience with automotive industry financial models and benchmarks, including service and repair shop operations (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and spreadsheet applications.
- Proven track record of driving financial growth and improving operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
