Job Summary


The Business Development Manager oversees developing business solutions. This person will manage client accounts and develop Tier 1 Automotive business strategy for the US. This includes new sales strategies, sales pitches, and business plans.


What will you do?


  • Brainstorm with the Tier 1 BDM team, Product and Sales Management to create new project and sales strategies
  • Identify sales and services that would appeal to new and existing clients
  • Manage company and client expectations
  • Develop Strategies for Specification, Machine Builder, and MRO to support and grow Tier 1 Automotive business
  • Execute sales objectives
  • Find and follow new sales leads
  • Negotiate sales contracts
  • Prepare sales contracts, following company rules and guidelines
  • Build trust and long-term relationships with clients/customers
  • Lead Sales Companies, Distribution Sales Staff with material and information to succeed in growing sales
  • Develop ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty
  • Research the market and industry trends


What will you bring to the table?


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical related field or equivalent technical selling experience
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Encouraging to team, sales organizations and staff; able to mentor and lead without direct reports
  • Self-motivated and self-directed to expand the company with new sales, clients, and territories
  • Able to analyze data, sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • 5 years of previous experience in Direct sales, Distribution sales, Project management or related field
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)


Working Conditions/Physical Demands, Travel, etc.


The Business Development Manager will maintain a home office in the territory. This position requires local auto travel as needed (approximately 2-3 days/wk) and travel to the factory for sales meetings, to conduct seminars, and to attend team meetings and training (approximately 2-3x per year)

Receive a competitive salary and an amazing benefits package as you grow your career at Turck. The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 - $140,000 plus bonus. A company car is also included.
